The Lady Vanishes is a brilliant thriller that will keep you guessing till the end

The Lady Vanishes is the play adaptation of the 1938 Alfred Hitchcock classic thriller. The show is currently touring and we caught the performance this week in Blackpool at the Grand Theatre.
The story follows Iris who is on her way home from Nazi-occupied Austria. Here she meets Miss Froy, a bumbling old governess, who joins her on the train journey. They talk, drink tea and then Iris falls asleep. When she wakes, Miss Froy has disappeared – and the other passengers seem determined to deny that she ever existed.

With the unlikely help of strong-willed Max, they work together to discover the truth. The thrilling plot has a brilliant pace that keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Lorna Fitzgerald and Matt Barber who play Iris and Max give a superb performance and their chemistry is perfect. There is also marvellous chemistry between Robert Duncan and Ben Nealon, a pair of cricket-obsessed Englishmen, who make up a humorous bromance and wander around the train deep in conversation about test matches.

The Lady Vanishes is a brilliant thriller that will keep you guessing till the end. It’s full of energy, strong performances and is an all-around quality show that will keep you thoroughly entertained.
