Review: The Comedy About a Bank Robbery

Review: The Comedy About a Bank Robbery

As part of its nationwide tour, the hilarious The Comedy About a Bank Robbery by the Mischief Theatre Company made its stop at Liverpool Empire last night and will continue to run until Saturday.

The Mischief Theatre Company has had previous success with its Laurence Olivier award-winning The Play That Goes Wrong by the writers Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields - and they do not disappoint with their new hit play.

Mitch Ruscitti (Eddy Westbury) escapes from prison with the help of some bent screws and his family (which includes a baby), he then heads back to Minneapolis to steal Prince Ludvig’s half a million dollar diamond and he does this with the help of his man-eating girlfriend.

The play was very cleverly written and the jokes were delivered incredibly well. They were timed perfectly and just as you'd finished laughing from the previous joke - along came another innuendo that had you back chuckling away.

The reaction from the rest of the audience clearly matched our response and it felt get to be in a theatre full of laughter.

The Comedy About a Bank Robbery makes for a brilliant night out and the only issue will be slight pain in your cheeks as you leave the theatre from laughing so much. But we're not complaining.

So if you want a laugh, get yourself down to the Liverpool Empire this week - you won't regret it!

Can't make it? The Comedy About a Bank Robbery is also showing in the West End until May 2020!
