In the heart of Cowley, Oxford, a new Italian restaurant is making its way through the neighbours’ hearts: La Smorfia (formerly known as Halley Café) offers authentic Italian cuisine ranging from pasta dishes, to pizzas, to a wide variety of desserts, while also being very inclusive of dietary restrictions and allergies; from gluten free to vegan, halal, and dairy free, the choice is so broad that it may simply be said “to each their own!”
Rosa and Denise, mother and daughter with a combination of over 50 years’ experience in the industry, opened the doors in August 2021 with the aim of bringing to Oxford the true flavours of Italy with authentic recipes, prime ingredients, and a dedicated and passionate team: “we are doing what is closest to our heart and tradition, especially with the name La Smorfia, which truly represents us and our Neapolitan roots” says Rosa.
