ROY HEMMINGS Hits Of Motown @ Babbacombe Theatre

Both critics and fans agree that Roy G Hemming’s is a great showman and dynamic singer. Understood as the longest serving former member of legendary group, The Drifters, Roy had worked alongside founder Johnny Moore for more than 20 years.

He has entertained audiences around the world with his easy, relaxed style and fabulous voice in a career that spans four decades and includes appearances in several Royal Variety shows and twice at The White House for the then president Bill Clinton.

As a highly respected artiste and singer he has a distinguished track record of fine stagecraft. Roy enjoyed major success when he signed a recording deal with Magnet Records in the mid- seventies with the J.A.L.N. Band, one of the first bands to storm the British charts with the dance record, ‘Disco Music, I Like It’ produced by Pete Waterman.

Roy’s second solo album, ‘All Talked Out’ which includes a fine version of 'The Drifters' classic, ‘Like Sister and Brother’.

Roy is currently touring with his “Hits of Motown Show” featuring “The Love Supremes” with their smooth harmonies and slick dance routines add a stunning dimension to the shows together with the dynamic “The Dictionary of Soul Band”

'Roy G Hemming’s Motown Show also features songs by the DRIFTERS.

This Show feature some of the classic hits Motown, by The Supremes, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, The Four Tops, The Temptations, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and Lionel Ritchie to name but a few. This electrifying show features such classic hits as ‘Stop In The name Of Love’ 'Dancing in the Street', 'I Can't Help Myself', 'I Heard It through the Grapevine’, ‘My Girl 'Reach Out I'll be there' and more.
