The exhibition of new drawings, sculptures and paintings by South African artist Peter Mammes will be open to be viewed at Noho Studios in early May.
Peter has been working on a series of exciting and challenging artworks that deal with the lockdowns, politics and authority. His sculptural pieces are meticulously made and cast in different materials. This is Peter's second solo show in London.
Peter is well known for his drawing style and choice of subject matter, from Lord Kitchener to Stalin to bandaged figures and ancient Egyptian imagery. Peter uses images as symbolic placeholders to tell an intricate and sometimes contrasting story.
This exhibition was conceived and executed during the lockdown and is the culmination of the last year's work.
