As part of a five-night residency celebrating their 30th anniversary, Neil Hannon’s The Divine Comedy, performing as an eleven-piece ensemble, play their tenth and eleventh albums in their entirety.
Tenth studio album Bang Goes The Knighthood keeps one eyebrow raised, sketching entire lives in just a couple of lines – executing social satire as no one else can, with occasional indie-pop pomp and peacocking.
Rounding up the five-night residency is 2016’s romantic odyssey, Foreverland. Underneath it's theatrical veneer, this record is a grown-up exploration of what comes after 'happy ever after'. 30 years on from their debut, The Divine Comedy remains a life-affirming joy.
* This show was rescheduled from 6th September 2020.
