His Majesty's Theatre

His Majesty's Theatre opened in 1906 and seats around 1470 people. It reopened in September 2005 following a major £8 million redevelopment and the new theatre brings Broadway and the West End to the North-east with award winning musical theatre such as Wicked, Jersey Boys and Dirty Dancing, as well as internationally renowned contemporary dance, acclaimed stage plays family shows like Shrek, Sing-A-Long-A-Frozen, Slava’s Snow Show and their legendary pantomime. It also the home of Scottish Ballet and Scottish Opera in the North-east.
