The Phoenix Theatre opened in 1930 and has enjoyed a succession of accomplished play. This includes the hugely popular Canterbury Tales adapted from Chaucer’s famous book which ran for 2000 performances. As well as host to award-winning musicals The Baker’s Wife by Stephen Schwarz and several successful Shakespeare plays.
