Ilford started out as a small rural community in the mid-1600’s, but when the Great Eastern Railway was established in 1839, it paved the way for its continuous growth. The town eventually became part of the London Borough of Redbridge in 1965. It has a wealth of diverse restaurants, bowling alleys and shops as well as the Kenneth More and Broadway Theatres.
