Having played at the Leicester Curve in summer 2023, KISS ME, KATE is transferring to the Barbican Theatre for a limited 15 week run in summer 2024!

KISS ME, KATE is the original farce and whisks you into a world of backstage chaos and romantic entanglements. With Cole Porter’s razor-sharp wit, it’s ‘The ultimate Broadway musical from the golden age’ (Financial Times) and is Broadway musical comedy meets Shakespeare meets Noises Off.

This fantastic production, directed by Tony Award winner Bartlett Sher, will star Tony Award winner Stephanie J Block (Into The Woods, 9 to 5), making her West End debut in the role of Lilli Vanessi/Katharine, opposite Adrian Dunbar (Line of Duty) as Fred Graham/Petruchio. They will perform alongside a wider cast of 50 and a full-scale orchestra, playing Cole Porter classics such as Another Op’nin’, Another Show, Brush Up Your Shakespeare and Tom, Dick or Harry.

What is Kiss Me, Kate about?

Egotistical leading man, director, and producer Fred Graham is reunited with his ex-wife, Lilli Vanessi, when the two are forced to play opposite one another in a new production of Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew. The battle of the sexes continues onstage and off, as it becomes clear that, as much as this couple profess to hate each other, they are also still in love. Alongside their bickering liaison, the show’s supporting actress, Lois Lane, supports her gambling boyfriend, Bill, as he attempts to evade the clutches of local gangsters.
