Review: Thriller Live

Returning to Blackpool in its record-breaking 11th year, we joined audiences at the Grand Theatre to see Thriller Live, the ultimate tribute show that celebrates the career of the world’s greatest entertainer - Michael Jackson.

The show its self is like the ultimate MJ playlist, which is brought to life by a sensational cast of performers. The cast really engaged well with the audience, bringing us into the world of Michael Jackson and they even had the crowd up dancing.

The wonderful repertoire of MJ hits available to bring this show together is an incredible reminder of his versatility as an artist and the impact he had on the progression of pop, rock and dance music.

Opening the show with a selection of Jackson 5 numbers, before moving into Jackson's solo career, it was really clear to see just how timeless Michael's music is and always will be.

One of our favourite numbers was the Smooth Criminal/Dangerous mash up. Whilst this song was thoroughly entertaining, it also showcased the level of creative talent behind the show.

We highly recommend everyone to go see Thriller Live, especially if you're a Michael Jackson fan. There is no real plot or narrative but the music speaks for its self. This wonderful Michael Jackson homage makes for a great night out - so get yourself there.

Thriller Live is showing at the Grand Theatre in Blackpool until Wed 17 Jul.
