Stage adaptation of Stephen King's The Shining

It has been discussed that a stage adaptation of Stephen King's The Shining is in the works.

According to a recent report from Forbes, director Ivo van Hove will apparently be overseeing a stage adaptation of Stephen King's best-selling horror novel.

Stephen King's novel was written in 1977 and tells the chilling story of a caretaker who moves with his family into the mysterious Overlook Hotel for the winter.

The story was famously adapted into a cult classic film by Stanley Kubrick which starred Jack Nicholson.

From the Forbes report, it suggests the stage show will open in the West End before transferring to Broadway. Further details of dates, venues, and casting are yet to be announced.

There's a buzz already surrounding this story, as the sequel to Kubrick's film titled 'Doctor Sleep' which stars Ewan McGregor is set to be released this November.
